Ringing The Bell and Plaque at the Bell

Sorry that you can not read the plaque so below is what is on the plaque.

MUSC and the Gift of Life Trust Fund are

honored to be a part of this moment in your

life.

Sailors feel that a bell is the soul of the ship.

The bell is rung onboard ships to signal

accomplishment, honor or momentous events.

You are ringing the bell for another soul:

That of the person whose decision to donate has

allowed you a new start and has given you the

gift of life.

Please cherish this memory and use it to remind

you to honor your donation by living life to the

fullest and taking care of yourself and your

transplant.

Help those who are still on the waiting list by

spreading the word about transplantation and organ

donation, volunteering and setting an example that

organ donation is... The Gift of Life.

OK I am running behind. We did return home on Monday and the doctor's visit went great they are pleased with all of my blood work numbers, for the first time in years my liver number are at or near normal.

They took the 68 staples out and I did not even yell.

Ever thing looked good enough that I dont have to go back for 2 weeks now.

Greetings from Possum Kingdom,

We made it home this evening and had a good trip down to Charleston & back to Possum Kingdom.

I have been so blessed, I have not taken any pain medication in over a week, and then it was because my back and neck hurt. I am now down to just my back hurting, they say it was the amount of time I laid on the operating table.

Well it is bed time now. I hope you have a great evening.

God Bless You,
Pel
Hello Again,
Just wanted to post an update on my doctor visit in Charleston today. They conducted blood work and they are pleased with everything. They told us to go home, have labs drawn on Thursday 2/15/07 in Greenville and return to Charleston to see the doctor on Monday 2/19/07 and maybe they will remove the the 68 staples from my Mercedes incision.
God Bless You,
Pel

Greetings From Charleston,

WOW how wonderful it was to go home on Thursday and not have to return until today. I hope that all will check out in the morning ( 2-12-2007) and we will be headed back to Possum Kingdom by early afternoon. We must still remember that this is God's plan, I am just along for the ride.

I would like to one again say thank you for the thousands of prayers that went to the same spot, I would like to also say thank you for the funds, blood drives, BBQ & Auction, and any thing else that was done for us. You are so dear to our hears and we love you each and every one.

I would also like to say thank you to the doctors and staff at Rutledge Tower, and all the hard work that was conducted for me to receive this transplant.

I would like to say thank you to the surgeons, doctors & staff in the O.R., ICU & 6 East. It has been a honor for me to be a patient that was so undeserving of the care, friendship & love hat was given to me and my family.

I would like to ask you to keep praying for us and please remember my donor's family, they suffered a great loss for me to continue life, because I received the Gift of Life.

All they can tell us about my donor was he was a male 42 years old. God Bless his soul & his family. Thank You

Are you an organ donor? If yes or no talk it over with your family today, they will make that final decision, but one donor can give the gift of life to so many at one time.

God Bless You,
We Love You,
Pel & Family

Good News!!!!

Daddy has been released from the hospital, he will have to stay in Charleston for several weeks, having to have blood work and check ups every day, but he is out of the hospital. He broke the record of transplant to release. They are not real sure when we will be able to come back to Possum Kingdom Memorial, but he is so glad to just be out of the hospital. The hospital staff was great to all of us, and words could never express how much we appreciate all they have done. Thanks again for all the prayers that have been coming our way, and please continue to keep praying, Daddy has made great progress, but we still have a long way to go too, and the Lord has been great to us, and we know that he will continue to do so, but just keep the prayers coming.
